Mean Vaccines

This week I went to see Dr. Suvan for my 2 year check-up and Hep. A shot. Sorry, no picture but there just wasn't time. It seems like when we actually have to be somewhere on time, I decide that would be a perfect opportunity to tell Mommy that I need to go potty! I am far from being "trained" in that area, but I sometimes get a wild idea that I might like to try it. Of course, Mommy drops everything and we always give it a try (usually, it just consists of me sitting there having Mommy read my Elmo potty book to me.) So that was, of course, the case on the morning of my doctor visit.

The check-up part of my visit went well. I am pleased to report I have 18 teeth, measure in at 35 inches and weigh 28 1/2 lbs. (I've actually lost a 1/2 lb. since the last time I was there...go figure!)

The vaccination part of my visit was another story. I've never had a problem before, but I guess with turning 2 I am just more aware about what is going on. I immediately wanted to leave before shot time came, but Mommy tried to lure me there a little longer by promising me one Dr. Suvan's sugar-free suckers. Holy cow, was it a sad sight when I got that shot! I cried and clutched my leg saying "it hurts!" :-( Even a sucker didn't relieve my pain. Once Mommy got our things together I LIMPED out of the office. Yes people, I seriously limped like my leg was broken. Mommy then had to pick me up and carry me the rest of the way because I just didn't think I could handle the pain from walking. I think Mommy was a little traumatized (as was I)!

The whole 1/2 mile drive home I told Mommy how bad "it hurts" and how I wanted the "sticker (band-aid) off". Once we got in the house, I insisted on removing the "sticker" and having some cuddle time with Mommy. So we rested in bed together for 45 minutes while I cried and again told Mommy how bad "it hurts". After my terrible morning, my afternoon perked up and I even found the energy to help wrap a few Christmas presents with Mommy.

So, who wants to volunteer to take me to get my next vaccine in June? ;-)

Coopy,
I almost cried, too, when I heard about your limping. Hope it goes better next time.
Love the new look for your blog.
