A Merry Little Christmas

I had been looking forward to opening presents and the time finally came! I'd been eyeing those gifts for weeks now and even got some paper torn off a few this last week when no one was looking! :-) I woke up bright and early at 6:30am Christmas morning to see if Santa had come. He brought me my very first remote control car. I like it, but haven't quite figured out that when I push the remote I'm actually the one controlling the car...go figure! I also got some cool climbing blocks and a HUGE tent to hang in my playroom.

I have to tell you about my gift unwrapping style, though. I was very meticulous when it came to this. I liked to pull off tiny pieces of paper and then rip those up into even tinier pieces! Then I had to take them to my Mommy so she could throw them away for me. As you can imagine, this made for a VERY long time of unwrapping.
Santa was good to me this year. And everyone else was good to me too! I got some great things from all of my family and I can't wait to get it all out today and get busy!

Here are a few pics of me getting the job done...

I'll end my post with some of my favorite pics from my Christmas photo session at Sarah Kingree Photography. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Party Time!

Thank you for all of your calls and well-wishes since I've been sick. I actually started feeling pretty good Monday, but that night Mommy started feeling bad. So she's been down and out these last two days. However, we both woke up today feeling like our old selves again! And after staying in so much this week trying to get well, we decided to venture out today to the MHJ Christmas party. I got all spiffied up in my holiday best and went to the office to celebrate with Daddy and his co-workers. Daddy thinks I look like a little old man in my hat and outfit, but Mommy thinks I look handsome! You be the judge...

Sicko

I woke up this morning with a fever, runny nose and very congested. Mommy didn't know what to do since this is the first time I've ever had a fever, or even really been sick at all for that matter! My temp was 100.3 so after some advice from Aunt Michelle & Mimi, we loaded up and took off to urgent care. Don't let the name fool you though, there was nothing "urgent" about their care. Two and a half hours later I was back at home and ready to go back to bed. I slept a good three hours and Mommy had to wake me up to give me some more medicine. I got up for a little bit to see Daddy since I haven't seen him all week because I've been in Springfield. We had a little dinner, more meds and a bath. After all of that, I was worn out and ready for bed again! Mommy is hoping all of this sleep doesn't mean I plan to get up at 2 am...I guess she'll just have to wait and see!

I don't know what happened to me, I was feeling good just yesterday! I got back Friday afternoon from spending this past week with Fischer in Springfield. While I was there, Fischer and I got the bright idea to sit on Santa's lap and tell him all of the things that are on our wishlists this year, but I chickened out at the last minute. That man was scary! I started crying before Mommy even sat me down on his lap and when she tried to sit me down I started kicking my legs as fast as I could. I just wanted outta there! Needless to say, there will be no pics of me sitting on Santa's lap this year. :(

After my traumatic experience with Santa, I was able to compose myself and finish up my Christmas shopping (with a little help from Mommy).

Here's a picture of Fischer and I enjoying each other's company this past week...

Last night I went over to Pepa & Nina's for Pepa's birthday.

Here we are celebrating together...

Even though I wasn't feeling well today, I did find some energy to choreograph a little Christmas dance routine for Daddy, Mommy, Scout and myself. Click HERE to check it out. I hope you like it! ;)

Birthday Shout Outs:

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...

Mommy, Daddy and I got busy and trimmed our Christmas tree the other night. I loved looking (and getting my hands on) all of the pretty ornaments. I hated it when they would show me the ornaments and then put them way up high on the tree where I couldn't reach them. I would yell and cry...it was a very eventful evening for us! I just wanted to keep the ornaments in my hands so I could run all over the house with them. Now, I've slowly started un-decorating the tree. Anything that is within my reach I pull right off of there! Mommy quickly put a stop to my fun and took off the lower ornaments. Now the tree isn't nearly as much fun to me. Here are some pictures of us getting the tree all ready for Santa's upcoming visit!

What?! Put them on the tree? I thought we were playing a game of "Mom & Dad puts them on and I take them off"!

Time out for a quick picture...

Mom's two favorite guys...

Let's be sure to put this one down really low so I can get my hands on it later, okay Mom?

Let's Play!

Today, I went with my playgroup to the Bootheel Youth Museum. I had a blast and got to do some pretty cool things while I was there!

I started off by playing a little ditty on the big floor piano. I sure can make some
beautiful music with my feet!

Next up...the steel pans. I'm thinking a career in music might be my calling.

Or maybe I could be a personal shopper. At the Kiddie Market I shopped 'til I dropped!

I think I'm gonna need a cart for this...

Lemons...check!

Potatoes...check!

Corn...check!
Milk...check!

Eggs...check!

Or perhaps culinary school is in my future. At the pretend restaurant I whipped up a lil somein' somein'.

Would you like that on white or wheat, Ma'am?

Wait, better let me taste it first...Mmm, now that's one tasty sandwich!

Gobble, Gobble

I started my Thanksgiving off by going
to Mimi and Grand-
father's house. There I gobbled up a big ol' turkey leg (as you can see from the picture)!

Fischer even got his hands on one, too!
Grandfather and I posing with the pecan pie we slaved over... Actually, Mimi did all of the hard work, we just liked having our picture taken with it. :)

After lunch, Fischer and I perused the ads to see what kind of after Thanksgiving deals we might find...

Just two little turkeys hangin' out, practicing our serious looks...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Got Milk?

Yesterday, I had my one year check-up with Dr. “Man”. I am now a whopping 22 ½ lbs. and 29 ½ inches long! He gave me the “all-clear” on starting cow’s milk now so yesterday evening Mom, Dad and I went to pick me up a carton.

Here I am getting ready to enjoy a tall glass…
Also, since I am now over 20 lbs. and a year old, I can sit facing forward in my car seat. There is a lot more to look at now instead of the back of a seat. It’s a whole new world riding in the car now!

Check me out in my big boy seat…

My teeth are now coming in fast and furious! I’ve had my two top central incisor and and two bottom central incisor teeth for sometime now. Just recently, my top left lateral incisor finally broke through the skin. My top right lateral incisor is trying to come through, but it hasn’t broken the skin yet. And to Mommy and Daddy’s surprise, when Dr. Suvan was checking out my teeth they discovered that my bottom left lateral incisor has already come through, too! They seemed surprised to learn this, but all they had to do was ask me and I could have told them that!

Today's birthday shout-out:
Happy 30th birthday to Aunt "Weesa" (Lisa)!

Here we are celebrating our birthdays together this past weekend...

A Royal Celebration!

Saturday I celebrated my first birthday with a prince theme party. Everyone put on their crowns and stopped by my castle for a royal celebration! I even had cake for the very first time, but I wasn't too impressed with it. That makes Mommy (aka Sugar Nazi) happy. :) As you can see from the pics below, I had more fun playing in the cake than eating it!

Here are the 2 cakes that my party goers got to enjoy...

And here's the cake I got to enjoy...
(the top pic is "before" and the bottom pic is "after")

Here I am making a royal mess...

And here I am opening up a few presents...

I even took time out to read the cards, too...

Daddy and I pulling the string on the pinata...

I was a good birthday boy and made sure everyone got a piece of candy from the pinata...

I had a great day but was worn out by the time all of my guests left. I'm looking forward to doing it all over again next year! :)
